What to Expect After Submitting an Idea or Invention

Weyerhaeuser rarely commercializes unsolicited ideas or inventions. Many submissions are duplications of past research and development. Others fall outside the scope of our business interests. In addition, we employ engineers, scientists, and technical staff who are responsible for researching and developing new products, processes, and technology to meet our current and future needs.

After submitting your invention:

• We will reply to the submitter within 60 days regarding our level of interest. Additional non-confidential information may be requested to determine further follow-up.
• If we're interested, a meeting will be arranged between the submitter and appropriate Weyerhaeuser business and technical staff. Prior to such a meeting, you may be required to sign an agreement that will protect the confidentiality of your information as well as Weyerhaeuser's information.
• Weyerhaeuser reserves the right to retain all information and materials submitted.
